Pulau Pinang (Penang)

The name Penang comes from the modern Malay name Pulau Pinang which means 'areca nut island'. Penang is also colloquially referred to as the "Pearl of the Orient" and "The Island of Pearls". Photos below from Georgetown, the capital city of the Penang state.
